Since today is the day the new privacy laws (General Data Protection Regulation, GPDR) take effect, I wanted to share some updates on this site, the comic and more. So this may be an important notice if you follow the page.
First of all, I’ve disabled all plugins that may use or collect your data (mostly affects DISQUS comments and analytic tools) until I find the time to give you more information on what they do, don’t and I have a solid privacy statement. It’s really a hassle to get it right, so the easiest way for now is to disable everything I have no control over. On the other hand, I don’t really use them much, so they won’t be missed anyway. Nobody ever comments, so DISQUS can stay deactivated for all I care and the analytics were fun to watch (how many people visit, what pages do they look at, etc.), but I guess I can live without that information.
Above all, I want to share my comic and/or art. It doesn’t matter if someone comments and it doesn’t matter how many visit the site, as long as someone out there might enjoy this, I’m fine with it. As usual, you’ll be able to follow me on Twitter, Facebook or tumblr (see sidebar) for comic updates and other artworks.
State of the comic
Speaking of it, I already mentioned it in some of the latest pages, but I will take a short break from drawing since I want to pay attention to some other projects. There will still be some pages coming the next weeks, we have not yet reached the end of this story arc. I’ll update the sidebar once the arc has ended.
On the same note, while I like the design of the page, I’m not quite happy with everything backend. When the time comes, I’ll probably redesign some elements and optimize the code. I also want some more dynamic designs and elements on the page.
To be more precise about the projects I’m currently working on, I’m thinking about starting streaming on Twitch. I figured if I play games or draw artworks or pages, instead of doing it all by myself, I can stream and maybe someone finds it interesting/entertaining how I rage at games or the way I approach art, the process, etc. That’s a current objective of mine, and I’m preparing a lot of stuff (interface design, art).
I don’t know how it will turn out or if I’ll even start streaming, but the process going there, reading into technical things, designing interfaces and all that is a great way to enhance my skills a bit further and I don’t want to miss out on that opportunity. If it bears fruit, who knows, but it’s a fun experience anyway!
The essence of it all
I have so many ideas I want to realize. So many stories for Chris, Zak and Vivi. So much lore around Zak and Deliah. Nothing is abandoned, I just switch the focus to some more things behind the scenes. Maybe you’ll see me streaming someday, drawing pages and artworks live or fail at games. Who knows, but this is certainly not over yet.
Whoa, this turned out longer than I intended. I just wanted to write that down. It’s good to do that once in a while.
